"I don’t give a fuck for disabled people I only give a fuck about myself" screamed Manorbier Community Councillor Martin Davies
Those are the words that echoed around the Manorbier Parish Hall, not once but were repeated a couple of times when he was called a low life for the comments he made about a chronically sick, disabled member of the Manorbier Community.
The person he made the comments about has suffered a massive stroke, is wheelchair bound and suffers from motor neuron disease. Prior to his illness, this man had been an excellent junior school head teacher and my son had the privilege of being one of his pupils. I hold this man in the highest regard as do many of the community and Councillor Davies's comments were those of a coward and lowlife who is not fit to serve on the Manorbier council. What were Councillor Davies's comments?
In a community Council debate about a letter that had been sent in to the council by the Disabled person, although they had been warned by the chairman that the person was seriously ill, County Councillor Malcolm Calver (grinning) and Community Councillor Davies, kept badgering and demanding the chairman bring the disabled person to the Council to stand up and speak for himself. The chairman reminded them both that the person was seriously ill after suffering a stroke and was now confined to a wheelchair, at this, egged on by the grinning County Councillor, Councillor Davies blurted out quite clearly, well in that case, slap him in his wheelchair, drag him down here and if he wants a fight, we will give him one"
We, referring to himself and County Councillor Calver who was still grinning until he realised no other member of the Community Council was amused with them and the County Councillor suddenly realised the seriousness of what Councillor Davies had just said.
I was a member of the public at that meeting and was extremely offended by County Councillor Calver's actions and Community Councillor Davies's comments. I was so offended I shouted back "I hope your sick and in a wheelchair one day, and we can slap you in your wheelchair and drag you down to the meetings and give you a fight" I was requested by the chair to be quite and I apologised to the chairman and the chairman then spoke to Councillor Martin Davies saying he did not find his comments at all funny.
After the meeting was declared closed, I approached Councillor Davies and told him I knew the person he referred to and found his comments extremely offensive, He told me to "fuck off", I repeated what I said adding that "he was a low life piece of scum", he still told me to "fuck off, I dont give a shit about what you feel". I said "no, low life’s like you don’t". He then jumped up out of his seat knocking over his chair and offered me outside, I don’t buckle to bully's like Davies and Calver and told him to make me go outside, at this he tried to lunge at me, being restrained by Councillor Calver and Meyrick. I stood my ground and still called him "a low life who can only pick on disabled people, who can’t defend themselves". This is when he blurted out, shouting:-
"I DONT GIVE A FUCK ABOUT DISABLED PEOPLE, I ONLY GIVE A FUCK ABOUT MYSELF" he repeated this a couple of times, We were both told to leave it, and eventually I left after more expletives and derogatory remarks towards disabled people from Councillor Davies.
As I am disabled myself I decided to report the matter to the police as I felt I could no longer attend the council meeting without fear of intimidation and ridicule about my disability by Councillors Davies and Calver. The police investigated the matter but the CPS decided after Councillor Calver made a statement to the police obviously defending Councillor Davies the matter would not be taken to court.
However, it was debated by Community Councillors at a later meeting and Davies openly bragged that he did make the comments I have just related to regarding the disabled person and these were minuted in that meeting.

I am writing this under my own name, Chas Cochrane. I hope Old Grumpy reads this as it is because of correspondence between us recently that I decided to write this blog, and hopefully he will see what Manorbier Community Council members have to put up with. Manorbier Community Council are not the Manorbier Mafia, but normal civilised human beings trying to do their best for the community under very difficult circumstance. I am doing this because I believe in the truth and I am not afraid to speak the truth, unlike Councillor Davies who has hidden behind a pen name in his blogs for a couple of years now and, additionally when referring to this incident and telling a pack of lies.
This is typical of both Community Councillor Davies's and County Councillor Calver's obnoxious and despicable behaviour at Community Council Meetings. Their rude, loathsome and detestable behaviour is the only input they add to the meetings, is it any wonder the genuine members who care about our community serving on the Community Council cannot get anything positive done for the community. MANORBIER COMMUNITY COUNCIL HAS TWO ROTTEN APPLES IN THE BARREL TO CONTEND WITH, ONE OF WHOME HAS PROVED HIMSELF TO BE ROTTING GARBAGE AND THE COUNTY COUNCILLOR'S PUPPET,THE COUNTY COUNILLOR THAT LOADS THE GUN FOR THE PUPPET TO FIRE, NONE OTHER THAN COUNCILLOR MARTIN DAVIES, AND THE OTHER, WHO IS A SPINELESS JELLYFISH WITH POISONOUS TENTICALS WHO ONLY REPRESENTS HIS OWN VIEWS NOT THAT OF THE COMMUNITY:- OUR OWN COUNTY COUNCILLOR AND PUPPETEER MALCOLM CALVER.
N.B. County Councillor Calver still makes inuendos about me being disabled at community Council meetings, the latest time only a month ago when two other members of the public rebuked him about it, but believe me, this WILL come back to haunt him.
